Every Christmas Eve, my (extended) family has a cocktail reception. I try to bring something different every year and haven't decided on what to do this year. The nice thing about Christmas Eve falling on a Saturday is that I have more time to spend on creating something unique. Other years I've been in more of a time pinch. Any ideas would be helpful.

Get a nice, semi-soft white cheese like emmenthael (or something swiss-y like that), proscuitto and figs. Slice the figs on one side to create a "pocket", put a slice of cheese in, wrap in proscuitto. Bake in the oven at 300 degrees for around 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the proscuitto shrinks and crisps a bit.

Very yummy. :)
